Kalen is one of the owners of Journey Salon + Suites! She’s a hair artist and has been in the industry for 12 years. She specializes in color corrections and extensions, but loves all things hair and beauty! She opened Cotton Salon in 2016 with a passion and love for making people feel beautiful and safe,  and in 2018 ventured into the salon and spa industry and has loved every minute of it! From day one of her owning a business, she’s always kept giving back at the forefront. She’s passionate about helping others and making them feel loved and beautiful inside and out. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family. She has an awesome, supportive husband of 9 years, and 3 children Navy (7) Haze (3) and Hawk (1) Coffee and humor are the way to Kalen’s heart; she loves a good laugh! She has a very strong personality and loves to see other strong entrepreneurial women! Journey is her home away from home and she’s so grateful to be a part of the incredible Journey Family! 

Sydney Kirkham

  Sydney is one of our salon owners and nail instructor/educator. She has been in the industry since 2015 after completing her nail licensing at just 17 years old, although she has practiced since she was a little girl. She loves doing and learning all different products and techniques and prides herself in furthering her education. She enjoys doing hand-painted art and helping her clients grow long, healthy nails. She has since expanded her career into teaching and absolutely loves instructing. Sydney has been married to her highschool sweetheart for since 2016 and together they have two sweet boys, Colton and Cameron, and two BIG fur babies, Meg and Willow. Besides work, she loves camping with her family, and is the queen of bargain shopping! She loves her job, and especially loves her students and clients!

Meet Nikelle she is one of our talented Hair Artists, and specializes in blondes and colors. She has practically grown up in a salon all her life. Don’t let her dark hair fool you because she has a natural talent for blondes (probably because she naturally is one) but she loves any color she can get her hands on! Outside of work she enjoys the occasional Netflix binge as well as spending time with friends and family. She has an itch for writing and a small addiction to Chick-Fil-A and Dr Pepper. She is ecstatic to be apart of the Journey family!

Jenise is a hairstylist at Journey Salon. She loves doing baylages, highlights and extensions! Lightening hair is where her heart is but she loves everything she does in hair, even men’s haircuts! Outside the salon she loves wakebaording, slalom skiing, air chairing, surfing, road biking, snowboarding and doing triathlons! She loves doing all these sports with her husband. She loves being part of such great salon!

Annika is a hairstylist who has been in the industry since 2012. She specializes in blonding and extension services. She loves everything about doing hair— getting to make people feel their best, trying new things, interacting with so many amazing women and having a creative outlet.

Annika has been married to her best friend since 2015 and together they have the sweetest, most perfect baby Georgia. She loves being a Mom, shopping, organizing, decorating, and cooking/baking new things. She loves Christmas and starts listening to Christmas music before anyone else wants to, so if you are in the salon in October-November and hear Christmas music it means she is probably working.

 Mariah has been a hairstylist at Journey since 2019! She has been doing hair for 9+ years. She loves creating bright blondes, dimensional brunettes and helping fine haired girlies gain confidence with extensions! She’s married to her best friend and they are raising two boys together. Mariah prides herself in having great personal connections with her clients and creating a safe space for them! 

Salon Manager/Nail Technician

Kori has been doing nails for 10 years now, but has been a part of our Journey family since 2019! She lives in Sandy with her boyfriend and their 3 dogs. She specializes in gel and hand painted nail art, although cuticle work is her favorite part of every service! She loves doing nails because she gets to express herself in a creative way, all while making others feel beautiful. In her free time you can usually find her at home doing crafts, cooking, playing with her puppies, or watching movies!
